An accessible digital future where everyone can thrive.

TechAble trains and mentors persons with disabilities across Africa, and connects them to work in the digital economy.

About this video

A 26-second silent loop filmed at TechAble training sessions in Ghana in 2025. It has no sound.

  1. Learners sit around a table of laptops while a trainer leans in to help.
  2. A wide view of a bright training hall, with groups of learners working at tables.
  3. Two women listen closely during a session.
  4. Three participants talk between sessions.
  5. A row of young men work side by side on laptops.
  6. A class in progress. A learner's power wheelchair is parked beside the tables.
  7. Four learners lean over one laptop, working something out together.
  8. Two learners share a desk. One types while the other looks up at the camera.
  9. Seen from behind, a group gathers around a laptop.
  10. The whole cohort, more than forty people, cheers for a group photo between two IEEE banners. Several use wheelchairs and crutches.

Talent is universal. Opportunity is not. TechAble is a nonprofit that opens the digital economy to persons with disabilities across Africa.

Skills, mentors and a way into work

We run accessible digital skills courses, pair every learner with a mentor, and introduce graduates to employers who are ready to hire them.

Our programs

Our first year, in numbers

In 2025 we trained our first cohort. Graduates have gone on to internships, freelance work and further training.

A learner's journey

Every program follows the same three steps, and what we learn from one cohort shapes the next.

Three young Black students sit at a table with laptops, focused on a screen during a collaborative session.

Train

Hands-on courses in web development, design and digital marketing, adapted to each learner and the assistive technology they use.

Three smiling men collaborate around laptops in a computer society workshop, with a man in a blue suit leaning in to assist two seated participants.

Mentor

Mentors from industry and universities help learners build a portfolio, confidence and a clear direction.

Two young men wearing IEEE Computer Society shirts smile together with their arms around each other during an indoor gathering.

Connect

We introduce graduates to internships, freelance work and inclusive employers, so training leads to income.

The people in the room

Forty-four learners completed our first cohort in 2025. They taught us as much about accessible training as we taught them about technology.
